Wessex Resins and Adhesives acquired by PRO-SET
PRO-SET Formulated Resin Systems, LLC, an Iron Path Capital holding company, has acquired Wessex Resins and Adhesives Ltd, solidifying PRO-SET’s position in the market for infusion, laminating, tooling, coating and adhesive systems.
Wessex is a family-run business that has been developing and manufacturing high-quality epoxy products since 1981.
Based in Hampshire, UK, the company supplies specialist epoxy resins and adhesive systems, backed by industry-leading technical support, to customers across the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
The company developed its underwater adhesive systems for use in the marine industry in partnership with the Ministry of Defence and the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
The underwater epoxy resin systems cure at very low temperatures and deliver long-lasting adhesion in adverse conditions. They are highly tolerant of contamination and are used in emergency situations where full surface preparation is not possible or there is a need for underwater application.
As well as the Ministry of Defence, Wessex has worked with other organisations including Bombardier and BAE Systems.

This strategic acquisition drives the global expansion of the combined composite resins and adhesives business into Europe. Wessex has served as Gougeon Brothers’ licensing partner in Europe for decades, manufacturing and selling Gougeon-branded products alongside its own branded WRA products.

This latest acquisition marks the second purchase for PRO-SET Formulated Resin Systems, following its acquisition of Gougeon Brothers, Inc. in May 2025.
