Unique waterways business in UNESCO Heritage Site for sale!

First Peninsula Marine is delighted to offer a very unique waterways business for sale!
Llangollen Wharf is part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site; it is a major tourist destination and one of the longest established visitor attractions in Wales. Located in the Vale of Llangollen in the Welsh market town of Llangollen, visitors have enjoyed trips around the area since 1884 with the attraction itself having been established for over 100 years.
Today, Llangollen Wharf represents a truly unique multifaceted Inland Waterways tourism business and a rare acquisition opportunity, offering moorings, horse drawn boat trips, self-drive boat hire, aqueduct tours, wharf tearoom and gift shop.
Operating on the Llangollen Canal, visitors to the wharf which includes school and corporate groups, can chose from either a relaxing horse drawn boat trip of 45-minutes or 2-hours in duration, or a 5-mile motorised boat trip across the famous Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is also an option. The business owns two purpose-built 32’ self-steer day boats which are available for hire, each accommodating groups of up to 10 passengers.
Themed boat trips are operated throughout the year which are extremely popular, especially with coach parties, with many coach tour operators featuring Llangollen Wharf as a profiled destination. Standard schedule boat trips run every 30 minutes in peak season or 60 minutes at all other times and are available to book via the online booking system on the Llangollen Wharf website. Private charter bookings are also available for groups of between 20 and 52 passengers.
Located in the old canal warehouse, the wharf giftshop sells attraction mementos and waterways related items and the tearoom serves traditional homemade fare throughout the day including breakfasts, lunches, Welsh cream teas, ice-creams and takeaway food.
