Swedish shipping company WALLENIUS SOL has acquired Mann Lines

Swedish shipping company WALLENIUS SOL has acquired Mann Lines, provider of RoRo and container vessel services and logistics.
This strategic move by the Swedish shipping company will enable it to offer a broader range of solutions, increasing its presence in key markets, whilst supporting the development of a more sustainable and digitally driven shipping and logistics industry.
WALLENIUS SOL, with its HQ in the Bay of Bothnia, offers a liner service with an ever-growing network of ports. With frequent and regular departures, it provides freight transport between ports in northern Finland and Sweden, Germany, the Benelux region and the United Kingdom.
Elvir Dzanic, CEO of WALLENIUS SOL, said:
“This acquisition, will among other things, result in a larger fleet and an expanded port network stretching from the Baltic countries to North West Europe.”
“The integration of services will enhance our expertise, broaden our offerings and foster thriving partnerships. With Mann Lines Logistics’ knowledge and years of experience operating container services in Northern Europe, we are well-equipped to deliver even greater value to the industries and communities we serve.”
Mann Lines, based in Harlow, Essex, and its sister companies are privately owned companies providing liner ro-ro and container vessel services, ships agency, stevedoring, chilled and ambient warehousing, forwarding, chilled and ambient distribution and European express freight.
This strategic collaboration aims to build a wider service network, with connections with reliable partners in major hub ports extending the service range to Ireland, Spain and beyond. The plan is for WALLENIUS SOL to launch new offices in Estonia, Latvia, and the UK, while increasing its presence in Finland, Germany, and the Benelux.
The growth plans also include delivery of a new RoRo vessel, with a proven efficient design for hull and propulsion, aimed at reducing emissions.
Bill Binks, former CEO of Mann Lines and new Vice President WS South at WALLENIUS SOL, commented:
“We are thrilled to embark on this journey together, as we unite our expertise and resources. Being under WALLENIUS SOL leadership will unlock new opportunities for our colleagues and customers, bringing tangible benefits to the Northern European market.”
