Maritime technology firm Wärtsilä SAM Electronics GmbH acquired by VINCI Energies
VINCI Energies has signed an agreement to acquire maritime technology company Wärtsilä SAM Electronics GmbH, expanding its range of services in the industrial sector.
Wärtsilä SAM Electronics, based in Hamburg, Germany, was founded in 1906 and specialises in technologies for the maritime sector and the energy market.
A subsidiary of the Finnish group Wärtsilä Corporation, the company is a global leader in innovative maritime technology and lifecycle solutions, focusing on sustainable technology. Wärtsilä Marine’s broad portfolio of engines, propulsion systems, hybrid technology, exhaust treatment, shaft line solutions, and digital technologies, as well as integrated powertrain systems, delivers efficiency, reliability, safety, and environmental performance. Wärtsilä Marine also supports customers with performance-based agreements, upgrades, lifecycle solutions, and decarbonisation services.
It is active in the field of electrical and automation integration for the German navy and naval shipyards in the north of the country, including Hamburg, Wilhelmshaven, Elmenhorst, Bremerhaven and Kiel.
Wärtsilä Energy enables the power sector to accelerate its decarbonisation journeys through market-leading technologies and power system expertise, with solutions including flexible engine power plants, energy storage and optimisation technology, alongside servicing.

This acquisition of the Marine Electrical Systems business will enable VINCI Energies, through its brand Actemium, to expand its range of services in the industrial sector and strengthen its position in the German defense market by integrating the expertise of 350 new employees and an additional full-year revenue of €100 million.
The agreement, which is expected to be completed in the last quarter of 2025, is subject to approval from the relevant authorities.
