Electric engine specialists ePropulsion Deutschland GmbH launched

After a decade of successful partnership, Ditoma GmbH is handing over the reins of the ePropulsion business in Germany. The newly established ePropulsion Deutschland GmbH will now manage operations of the electric engine specialist, marking a strategic shift towards closer global integration under the direct leadership of ePropulsion Technology Co. Ltd.
ePropulsion are specialists in the electric engine for marine use, delivering clean, quiet, and sustainable propulsion that benefits boaters, marine life, and the environment. Based in Hong Kong, the company was founded by a group of engineering students and launched its first electric outboard in 2014. Today, ePropulsion offers electric propulsion solutions for virtually every type of vessel, from a 0.5 kW portable motor to a 250 kW inboard system. Models include the lightweight Spirit series, Navy series, X-Series, I-Series, H-Series and Pod Drive motors.
ePropulsion CEO Danny Tao said:
“Our journey in Germany has already been marked by many successes. Dirk and his team have laid a solid foundation, and now we are ready to build further. The establishment of ePropulsion Germany GmbH allows us to focus more clearly and strategically on our presence in this vital region.”
Ditoma GmbH has specialised in automotive paints for over 20 years. Alongside well-known brand manufacturers, it offers a private label program and highly innovative special coatings from a warehouse near Stuttgart, Germany.
Until now, Ditoma GmbH has played an essential role in introducing and expanding the ePropulsion brand across the German market. The company helped build a robust distribution network, cultivated lasting relationships with customers, and defined a clear path for future growth. This transition was initiated by Ditoma’s Managing Director Dirk Weißenborn, who sees it as a timely evolution given the brand’s growing global ambitions. He said:
“The market continues to change rapidly, and we believe tighter international collaboration is more important than ever.
“ePropulsion has reached a level of maturity where direct management will benefit its continued development in Germany and throughout Europe.”
Going forward, Ditoma will return its attention to its core strength – the wholesale distribution of automotive paint and accessories. The company will continue to support ePropulsion with operational functions such as logistics.
Michael Held, who previously led the ePropulsion division at Ditoma, will step into the role of Managing Director for ePropulsion Deutschland GmbH. He concluded:
“This transition enables us to collaborate more closely with our colleagues in China and around the world. That connection gives us the ability to respond more quickly to shifts in the market, understand our customers more deeply, and continuously refine our service.
“On top of that, we have new marketing strategies and products in the pipeline, many of which were shaped by insights and feedback gathered from users right here in Germany.”
