Boat accessories specialist Opacmare acquires Pin-Craft

Boat accessory specialist Opacmare has acquired marine engineering company Pin-Craft in a strategic move to broaden its product range.
Opacmare was launched in 1995 to manufacture and supply yacht and superyacht components and boat accessories from its HQ in Rivalta di Torino, Italy. The company specialises in gangways, ladders, doors, windows and seats, as well as handling systems such as lifts and cranes.
The company is focusing on sustainability issues, increasing the production of electrically-operated components – such as Evo Step, an electrically operated ladder – with the aim of reducing long-term environmental impact.
This acquisition is a strategic and fundamental step Opacmare is taking towards key targets, including expanding its products portfolio, especially for vessels over 50m, whilst also optimising organisation and production processes, increasing overall production capacity.
It will also increase turnkey solutions offerings, thanks to integration of Pin-Craft’s skills and infrastructure. It will enable Opacmare to offer installation services whilst optimising service times, costs and quality.
This in turn will strengthen its presence in the high-quality marine production segment, with the aim of supplying boats from 10 to 200m.
Pietro Sacco, President of Opacmare, said:
“We strongly believe that this acquisition shall add value not only to our company, but to clients, suppliers and partners as well. It is a forward-looking choice aiming for growing together towards excellence, innovation and sustainability.”
Pin-Craft, based in Viareggio, Italy, moved into the pleasure craft market in the late 1950s to supply shipyards with accessories and high-quality leisure marine products. It now manufactures gangways, stair carpet, swim ladders, swim platforms, oars, hatches, rescue boat cranes, hauling and launch sytems for tenders and other custom accessories for super yachts and mega yachts.
The acquisition will gain access to new markets via Opacmare’s network, with plans to create a production site of excellence in Viareggio.
