Callegari acquired by Recchia Group
Callegari, the Italian boat builder, has been acquired by the Recchia Group, starting a new industrial phase for the brand.
Callegari specialises in RIBs and inflatable boats from its HQ in Anagni, Frosinone. Launched in 1977, the Callegari shipyard has produced thousands of dinghies for customers worldwide and is now entering a new industrial phase following the acquisition of the brand.
The Recchia Holding Group is a diversified company active mainly in the real estate, construction and industrial sectors, with a particular focus also on aerospace and advanced technologies. With its HQ in Rome, Italy, it launched Aviorec Marine in 2024, specialising in the construction of luxury boats and tenders.
The Recchia Industrial Group has acquired the brand of Callegari, alongside the assets and the expertise. The Recchia Industrial Group includes Aviorec, a company specialising in the design and production of composite structural parts for aerospace applications, and this will be integrated into the new-look Callegari manufacturing operations, introducing composite materials and light structures in the design and construction of high-tech RIBs.
Aviorec manufactures critical components and structural assemblies for the flight sector, including rotor blades for helicopters, collaborating with strategic suppliers and leading aeronautical manufacturers. Engineering solutions, production processes and materials developed in this field will be transferred to the nautical supply chain for the new Callegari range. A new top-of-the-range model, configured as a maxi-RIB, is in the advanced design phase using these additional advanced technical innovations – the exterior design is entrusted to Lorenzo Guadagnucci, while the technical and operational direction is the responsibility of engineer Antonello Guidi, with Francesca Rubbi leading on the interior design.
Jacopo Recchia, CEO of Aviorec, is also CEO of Callegari, whilst Giampaolo Capponi is leading the commercial management.
The acquisition of the brand is part of a strategy of industrial diversification of the group, already active in the aerospace, railway, automotive and nautical sectors. The stated goal is to build a new generation of pneumatic boats by leveraging transverse skills in composites and advanced structural processes.
