Tankoa Yachts acquires business division of Otam

Tankoa Yachts has acquired the business division of Otam, finalised in agreement with both companies' founding families. The acquisition includes the Otam brand and its Genoa shipyard.
Organizzazione Tigullio Assistenza Motoscafi (Otam) was founded in 1954 as one of the first boat storage yards in Liguria, becoming an Official RIVA Assistance Center. The yard started creating its own high-performance wooden boats in the late 1960s, moving on to fibreglass in the 1980s.
Today the shipyard offers its Fast&Iconic and Otam Custom Range. Models in the Fast&Iconic include the OTAM 45’ Open or T-Top version, the 58’ Open, HT or GTS, and the 90 HT or GTS. The Otam Custom Range offers projects ranging from 45’ to 40 metres.
The Genoa facility offers 4,800 square metres of covered areas, 3,300 square metres of open-air spaces, and a water basin of nearly 10,000 square metres, and will be seeing a restructuring program under Tankoa Yachts that will include extending concessions, reorganising the areas, and constructing new production sheds.
Following the acquisition of the business division, the dockyard facilities in Santa Margherita Ligure will remain under the current ownership.
Tankoa Yachts is based in Genoa Sestri Ponente and was founded in 2008. It specialises in building custom superyachts over 45 metres in its 20,000 square metre shipyard. The company is also building a new 30,000-square-metre facility in Civitavecchia.
Completed projects include M/Y Kinda, a 50m hybrid propulsion yacht offering three cruising modes: diesel-mechanical, diesel-electric and full-electric.
The company also offers refit services from simple paint job to a hull extension. Its submersible dry dock allows the launch of yachts up to 120 meters in length and up to 4,500 tons in weight.
Otam’s workforce will be integrated into Tankoa Yachts. All employees are being transferred to ensure job continuity and to add new skills and experience to the shipyard.
