Maritime software provider OrbitMI acquires Gale Force

Maritime software provider OrbitMI has acquired Gale Force, a provider of maritime advisory services, specialising in energy efficient sea transport, enhancing its Voyage Optimisation Platform with integrated advisory services.
Gale Force specialises in voyage optimisation, environmental compliance, and voyage execution support. Services include vessel movement monitoring, performance analysis, and monitoring energy efficiency monitoring, utilising MetOcean Intelligence and high-resolution global weather forecasts to support shipping to improve safety, increase sustainability and optimal vessel performance.
Based in Norrköping, Sweden, Gale Force brings a unique blend of advanced analytics and hands-on maritime experience. The company’s route optimisation services combine sophisticated algorithms with expert marine meteorologists, offering voyage plans that reduce fuel consumption, increase safety, and improve schedule reliability. Its emissions reporting tools ensure compliance with global regulations such as IMO DCS, EU MRV, and CII, while its flexible reporting templates integrate easily with existing shipboard systems.
Gale Force’s founder Tom Sandberg and his team will join OrbitMI. Sandberg said:
